Certifications

At ECORE, we accept responsibility for our products and processes. However, we also offer the following third party certification information as a testament to our quality, environmental standards, and product safety.

We are proud that our ECOsurfaces commercial flooring, Everlast sports surfacing with Nike Grind, and PlayGuard safety surfacing have all earned FloorScore certification. The FloorScore program was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in conjunction with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), which tests and certifies flooring, as well as flooring adhesive products, and certifies production facilities for compliance with rigorous indoor air quality emission requirements. Individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are evaluated using health-based specifications. Flooring and adhesives that earn FloorScore certification earn a legitimately enhanced market position, distinguished by the FloorScore certification label.

Products bearing the FloorScore label meet the indoor air emissions criteria of:

  • Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS)
  • LEED Green Building Rating Systems
  • Green Guide for Health Care.

CHPS

Many of ECORE’s products, including ECOsurfaces commercial flooring, Everlast sports surfacing, and E-Grip III adhesive meet the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) criteria (Section 01350) for indoor air quality in classrooms as described in the State of California's Department of Health Services Standard Practice.

The mission of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools is to facilitate the design, construction, and operation of high performance schools: environments that are not only energy and resource efficient, but also healthy, comfortable, well lit, and containing the necessary amenities for a quality education.  Visit Site

IPEMA Certified

ASTM F-1292 is the industry’s standard test to evaluate a surfacing system’s ability to absorb shock.

In the interest of playground safety, the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association provides a Third Party Certification service whereby an independent laboratory, Detroit Testing Laboratory, Inc. (DTL), validates a surfacing manufacturer’s certification of conformance to ASTM F1292, Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation Under and Around Playground Equipment. The use of the IPEMA Playground Surfacing Certification logo signifies that Surface America and PlayGuard have received written validation from DTL that the products associated with the use of the logo conform with the requirements of the standard. Check the IPEMA website (http://www.ipema.org) to confirm product certification, its thickness and critical height.

When a Surface America or PlayGuard system is installed, wheelchairs and crutches negotiate the playground without difficulty, thus conforming to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and ASTM F1951 Determination of Playground Surface Accessibility. Visit site
