 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. At ECORE, those are more than simply words. They are more than just a concept or corporate ideal we think manufactures should aspire to achieve. They describe the fundamental process upon which we have built a thriving business; the very core of our existence. From the beginning, ECORE has been at the forefront of recycling efforts. Twenty years ago, we pioneered the recycled rubber flooring category. Today, as North America’s largest user of recycled scrap tire rubber, we process more than 80 million pounds of scrap tire rubber each year, helping to conserve more than one million barrels of oil while converting pliable treads into durable products for the construction, consumer, sports and leisure, commercial, and industrial markets. At ECORE, we are proud to be recognized as an industry leader in recycled products technology. We manufacture a diverse portfolio of innovative, high quality products including commercial flooring, sports and fitness surfacing, impact sound insulation, playground safety surfacing, equine pavers, load securement materials, as well as materials used in the aerospace, automotive, and industrial channels.

As a founding member of the U.S. Green Building Council, we support efforts to promote sustainable building practices and materials. Because of their positive environmental attributes, many of the building products we produce, specifically our ECOsurfaces, Everlast, PlayGuard, and QT products, have the potential to contribute points to The United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. ECOsurfaces, Everlast, and PlayGuard products are also FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. |

We respect the environment and understand that all resources are limited. To that end, we appreciate and celebrate the positive impact our products have on people and the planet. We support the use and reuse of industrial and post consumer waste and the development of systems to reclaim and reuse our own products after their useful life. In addition, our products pass the strictest indoor air quality tests and assurance methods for low emissions of total volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), and our recycled rubber products are PVC free.

Our interest in promoting product sustainability and environmental initiatives extends well beyond our own corporation. We currently partner with Nike by participating in its Nike Grind program. Through this effort, Nike collects worn athletic shoes from consumers via a global recycling effort and processes them into raw materials used in sports surface manufacturing. ECORE blends this Nike Grind material with premium recycled tire rubber to create Training Ground, a professional-grade interlocking tile system for the home fitness flooring market. In addition, we have included Nike Grind material in all of our Everlast sports surfacing patterns, assisting in the rescue of nearly 300,000 pounds of unused Nike footwear by-products and unwanted athletic shoes from landfills each year.
Proceeds generated by the Nike Grind program go toward providing disadvantaged communities all around the world with high-performance athletic surfaces. We are committed to this initiative and growing these types of relationships as we progress into the future. Click here for more information
